Apple iPhone 16 Becomes Highest Selling Smartphone in 4th Quarter of 2025

According to a new report from Counterpoint Research, heavy promotions and strong channel execution during the festive season helped iPhone 16 remain on top in sales. Vivo remained the top smartphone brand by volume in India with 25 percent market share in the fourth quarter, largely driven by the Y-series which was preferred in smaller cities and towns with better offline retail. During this period, phones priced above Rs 45 thousand achieved a record share of 17 percent, which is the highest so far in any quarter. Due to this, Apple’s iPhone 16 became the best-selling smartphone in India for the third consecutive quarter.

iPhone 16 was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 79,900. iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, whose resolution is 1179×2556 pixels and brightness up to 2000 nits. This iPhone has been equipped with octa core Apple A18 processor. In terms of operating system, it works on iOS 18. This iPhone is equipped with IP68 rating to protect against dust and water. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and USB Type C port. The rear of this iPhone has a 48 megapixel wide angle camera with f/1.6 aperture, 12 megapixel 2x telephoto camera with f/1.6 aperture and 12 megapixel ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture. A 12-megapixel front camera with f/1.9 aperture has been provided for selfies and video calls.
