90 Day Fiance fans are soon about to witness drama unfold in real time between long-time stars of the reality show, former heavyweight champion Patrick Mendes, and his estranged Brazilian wife, Thais Ramone. Just days after Mendes filed for a divorce from Ramone, the latter found herself in bigger trouble when she was arrested on misdemeanor and domestic battery charges.
Now released with the charges officially dropped, the model has finally spoken up about the controversy. Ramone’s representative recently released a statement on her behalf.
Why was Thais Ramone arrested?
In case you missed it, Thais Ramone, 29, was arrested in Nevada on May 22, 2026, just hours after reports surfaced that Mendes had filed for divorce following four years of marriage. According to court records, Ramone was arrested in Clark County, Nevada, on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge. Her team later described her arrest as resulting from a “personal family dispute.”

While the specific details about the alleged incident remain confidential, it did not take long for the case to be dismissed. Only two days later, on May 24, 2026, the District Attorney officially dropped the charge against Ramone, TMZ reported. It was reportedly Thais’ first offense, and the reality TV star was released upon a USD 3,000 bond. In a statement released after the dismissal, Ramone’s representative, Dominique Enchinton, told Page Six:
“While a misdemeanor allegation was made following a personal family dispute, the matter was reviewed by the District Attorney and the charge was ultimately dropped. We believe that outcome speaks for itself.”

The statement also urged the public not to rush to conclusions about the situation.
Thais Ramone speaks out amid divorce drama with Patrick Mendes
While Thais Ramone herself has not directly addressed her recent arrest on camera, her rep emphasized that the 90 Day Fiancé star is choosing to focus on her daughter and healing privately instead of engaging in online drama. The statement continued:
“As with many deeply personal situations involving family and relationships, there are always complexities that the public may not fully see or understand. However, Thais has chosen not to engage in public back-and-forths or contribute to online speculation.”

Thais Ramone seems to be handling the situation head-on. Though she did not address her divorce drama directly, she appeared emotional but composed in recent posts after the arrest news broke. In a new Instagram post, the Brazilian model shared a carousel of photos, including one snap that shows her teary-eyed. Her caption simply reads:
“Lately… Thank you guys for so so so much love and support! Love you all!”

Thais’ team described her as a “devoted mother, family-oriented woman, and someone who values peace, stability, and discretion.” With her divorce proceedings going on, she reportedly now wants to prioritize her own happiness and her 3-year-old daughter, Aleesi, whom she shares with Patrick.

Why are Patrick Mendes and Thais Ramone separating?
TMZ first reported the news of the separation. According to court documents obtained by the outlet, Patrick filed for divorce earlier this week, citing “incompatibility” as the reason behind the separation. Following the filing of the divorce, a representative for the couple released a statement on their behalf, urging fans not to jump to conclusions.

One of the biggest revelations from the filing is Patrick’s request for sole legal custody and primary physical custody of the couple’s 3-year-old daughter, Aleesi Ramone Mendes. Aleesi had reportedly been with Patrick since May 6, 2026, at a separate address away from the home he previously shared with Thais.

Patrick claims that he earns around USD 10,000 per month, while Thais reportedly earn approximately USD 5,000 monthly, and the former is reportedly not seeking child support or spousal support. However, the reality star is requesting ownership of several shared assets, including their Honda Ridgeline, a Fidelity 401K worth USD 8,000, and even their Tempur-Pedic mattress.

The estranged couple is also set to appear together on the upcoming season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Last Resort, which will premiere on June 1, 2026.
