Kyle Busch’s widow, Samantha tears up at an emotional tribute for the late legend

Well, destiny had some other plans, as he suddenly passed away. At the event, recently final tribute was paid to the NASCAR legend, and it was joined by thousands of Kyle’s fans along with his family members, including his wife, Samantha and two kids, Brexton and Lennix. A video from the same event has made the rounds on social media, and fans are heartbroken over Samantha Busch’s heartbreaking moment. In the video, Samantha was seen crying while hugging her and Kyle’s son, Brexton, as they paid last honour to the late NASCAR legend. Apart from them, the event was also attended by Kyle’s parents, Tom and Gaye Busch and his brother, Kurt Busch.

NASCAR CEO Steve O’Donnell paid tribute to Kyle Busch and said that he was a ‘home’, and every racetrack was his home. Steve talked about Kyle Busch’s passion, and revealed that he never stopped and he had a mindset that he had to prove something to every race he took part, even when, he had proved everything. While for the world, he was a NASCAR legend, for his close ones, he was someone who would jump to help his teammates, give advice, equally be the best dad and husband, and do everything like nobody was watching. Steve’s exact words were:

“He competed like he had something to prove every single race, when in reality he had already proven everything. What I think we’ll miss the most isn’t the wins. It’s the guy who quietly wanted to help a teammate, give some advice, who was the husband, the father, the guy who quietly did things for others when no one was watching.”

What is Sepsis that took Kyle Busch’s life?

During the time Kyle Busch passed away, his health issue reports were already making headlines. As per Associated Press, he was found unresponsive at the Chevrolet racing simulator on May 20, 2026, just a day before his passing. Following this, his family released a statement, stating that he wouldn’t take part in his then-upcoming competitions, including the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series race at the speedway in Concord on May 22, 2026, and on May 24, 2026, at the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It was also revealed that he was facing ‘severe illness’ and was hospitalised.

Reports claimed that he was suffering from sinus and had also developed pneumonia. While initially it was not revealed what caused Kyle’s death, later, through a family statement, it was known that he had developed Sepsis, which took his life. For the unversed, Sepsis is a medical condition that is a response to infection. This is a life-threatening condition, where the immune system goes into overdrive instead of fighting the bacteria, thus resulting in serious health issues like overwhelming inflammation, damaging vital organs, lowering blood pressure, organ failure and even death. In Kyle’s case, the pneumonia progressed into Sepsis, which claimed his life. This was confirmed by Kyle’s family members.

Kyle Busch and Samantha Busch’s relationship

Kyle and his wife, Samantha’s love story was not a ‘love at first sight’. The duo met when she was working for a PR firm, and later, he got her number, and they started talking. After four months, the duo met again, went on their first date, and eventually fell in love. It was in 2010 when the couple got married. Just like every relationship, Kyle and Samantha’s bond also faced a major almost-cracked moment. They welcomed their son in 2015, reportedly after a lot of trials, and opted for IVF. When Samantha was planning to have another child, she and Kyle faced some issues in their marriage, which worsened in 2018, after she faced a miscarriage. However, it was in 2022, when they welcomed their daughter, Lennix, and their relationship also healed with the arrival of their little princess.
